Recruitment Context

As iBanFirst continues to scale — with €80M in revenue, strong year-on-year growth and a profitable business model — we are strengthening our Finance function to match the ambition and complexity of the Group.

We are looking for a senior FP&A Manager to join our Finance organisation following the departure of the current FP&A Manager.

You will join at an important moment for the team, with a new Deputy CFO joining iBanFirst shortly. You will report directly to this Deputy CFO and work closely with Arnaud De la Porte, CFO & Deputy CEO, on financial performance, strategic planning and business decision-making.

This role goes beyond reporting and forecasting. We are looking for someone who can challenge the existing FP&A setup, raise the quality of financial analysis, improve the way the team operates and make Finance a stronger business partner across the organisation.

 

Manager & Team

You will report directly to the Deputy CFO, who will be joining iBanFirst shortly, and work closely with Arnaud De la Porte, CFO & Deputy CEO.

The Finance team is made up of 12 people across Paris, Brussels and London. It brings together FP&A, Controlling, Accounting and Treasury & ALM, and works closely with the wider business, including Sales, Marketing, Operations and Tech.

As FP&A Manager, you will manage and develop two FP&A Analysts (one Junior and one Senior)

You will also work closely with Finance leadership and senior stakeholders across the organisation.

 

What will you do?

As FP&A Manager, you will own the FP&A agenda and act as a senior financial partner to the Finance leadership team and the wider business.

Reporting & Performance Management

  • Own the monthly and quarterly financial closing and reporting process, delivering clear, reliable and actionable P&L analysis

  • Build and maintain executive-level dashboards and reporting for senior leadership and the Board

  • Analyse business performance, identify key drivers and explain variances between actuals, budget and forecast

  • Ensure that financial reporting supports timely and high-quality decision-making

  • Challenge existing reporting practices and improve the relevance, speed and quality of the information provided

Budgeting, Forecasting & Strategic Planning

  • Lead the annual budget process, rolling forecasts and medium-term planning across the Group

  • Develop and maintain robust, multi-scenario and multi-country financial models

  • Support strategic planning, resource allocation and investment decisions

  • Build clear scenario analyses to assess the financial impact of strategic and operational decisions

  • Partner with business leaders to translate commercial and operational priorities into financial plans

Business Partnering & Strategic Analysis

  • Act as a trusted financial partner to senior stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Operations and Tech

  • Support go-to-market decisions, new market entries, product economics and investment cases

  • Develop a granular understanding of profitability by country, client segment and product line

  • Challenge business assumptions and provide clear, actionable recommendations

  • Help establish a strong performance management culture across the organisation

Investor & Strategic Topics

  • Prepare Board and investor materials, building a rigorous and compelling performance narrative

  • Contribute to investor discussions and management presentations

  • Support fundraising processes, including financial modelling, due diligence preparation and data room management

  • Contribute to M&A and strategic transaction analysis when required

  • Prepare business plans, investment cases and ROI analyses for strategic initiatives

AI, Analytics & Automation

  • Lead the use of AI and automation within FP&A to improve efficiency, reporting quality and analytical depth

  • Identify opportunities to automate recurring reporting, data preparation, forecasting and variance analysis

  • Use AI tools to accelerate analysis while maintaining appropriate levels of control, accuracy and confidentiality

  • Develop data-driven dashboards and analytical tools to improve visibility into business performance

  • Promote practical and responsible adoption of AI within the Finance team

Process Improvement & Data Quality

  • Continuously improve FP&A processes, tools, data flows and reporting infrastructure

  • Ensure consistency, accuracy and integrity of financial data across systems

  • Identify gaps in the existing setup and define a clear improvement roadmap

  • Build scalable ways of working that can support the continued growth of the Group

Team Management

  • Manage, coach and develop the Senior and Junior FP&A Analysts

  • Set clear objectives and expectations and provide regular feedback

  • Review and challenge the quality of the team’s deliverables

  • Develop the team’s autonomy and analytical capabilities

  • Create a culture of rigour, ownership, curiosity and continuous improvement

 

Role Objectives

First 3 months

  • Get fully up to speed with iBanFirst’s financial model, P&L structure, revenue streams and existing reporting

  • Build strong relationships with the Deputy CFO, Arnaud and key business stakeholders

  • Take ownership of a budget cycle or quarterly closing process

  • Develop a critical assessment of the existing FP&A setup, including processes, tools, reporting and team organisation

  • Identify and prioritise the main opportunities for improvement

First 6 months

  • Improve the quality, reliability and speed of FP&A reporting

  • Deliver a refreshed forecasting model and scenario framework

  • Establish a clear roadmap for the development of the FP&A function

  • Implement initial AI and automation initiatives within FP&A

  • Be recognised as a credible and trusted financial partner by business teams

  • Begin challenging the status quo and translating observations into concrete recommendations

First 12 months

  • Own the FP&A agenda with a high level of autonomy

  • Have a measurable impact on the quality and speed of financial decisions

  • Establish a scalable and more automated FP&A operating model

  • Build a strong and increasingly autonomous FP&A team

  • Contribute to at least one strategic initiative, fundraising process or transaction-related project

 

What do you bring?

Experience

  • 8 to 12 years of professional experience in FP&A, Finance, Strategic Finance, Corporate Finance or Transaction Services

  • Significant experience in FP&A within a fast-growing, international or multi-entity organisation

  • Previous management experience, with at least 2 direct reports

  • Proven track record of building and owning complex financial models and planning processes

  • Experience working closely with CFOs, executive teams and senior business stakeholders

  • Experience in a scale-up, fintech, B2B SaaS or regulated financial services environment is a strong plus

Must-have skills

  • Strong FP&A expertise — budgeting, forecasting, reporting, scenario analysis and performance management

  • Exceptional analytical skills — you are highly comfortable working with complex data and turning it into clear business insights

  • Financial modelling excellence — you build robust, decision-grade models from scratch and use them to support strategic decisions

  • Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills — you are fast, rigorous and precise

  • Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Metabase, Tableau or Looker — you are able to build, maintain and use dashboards to support financial analysis and decision-making

  • Advanced AI and automation capabilities — you have practical experience using AI tools or automation to improve financial analysis, reporting or processes

  • Strategic business partnering — you can challenge senior stakeholders and influence decisions through clear analysis and recommendations

  • Leadership and team development — you know how to set high standards, provide feedback and develop Finance talent

  • Autonomy and ownership — you are comfortable setting priorities, driving change and improving an existing setup

  • Fluent in both French and English

Nice to have

  • Experience presenting to or working directly with investors or investment funds

  • Experience participating in or supporting fundraising processes

  • Experience preparing Board materials and investor reporting

  • Familiarity with multi-entity and multi-currency consolidation

  • Experience with revenue forecasting in a SaaS or subscription-based business

  • Experience in a regulated financial services or payments environment
